IPL 2022 has new teams, changed team sets, and a different format in stock. However, this does not necessarily affect the points system.
This year the format will be a little different, 10 teams will be divided into two groups – groups A and B.

Group A – Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants
Group B – Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans
Now, within the groups, each team will compete twice with each other and also twice against a team in the same row from the other group. Then each team in each group will play once against all other teams in the other group. This leads to a total of 14 (8 + 5 + 1) matches for all teams.
On Sunday, the Delhi Capitals returned to the winning field by defeating the Kolkata table winners Knight Riders. With a victory in 44 laps, Punjab Kings jumped to sixth place in the IPL table. In the second match, the Rajasthan Royals defeated the Lucknow Super Giants by three runs in the thriller and reached the top of the table with six points.
