The first trailer for the upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder by Marvel Studios was shared by the filmmakers on Monday night, shortly after dropping his new retro-looking poster. In the long trailer, we see that Thor has left his more aggressive side to promote peace. “My superhero days are over,” is heard in the clip at one point. It is clear that this is a new, more Zen Thor that we have not yet encountered.
Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord appeared a little goofy, and we also saw Valkyrie as the new King of Asgard. Let’s put it this way: He doesn’t look very happy when he plays a role. But the creators kept the best surprises at the end and finally revealed the first form of Natalie Portman as the Mighty Thor, the goddess of thunder. Jane Foster, adorned in a steel suit, raincoat and hammer, looked the best in this new avatar.
Before sharing the trailer, the creators also dropped a poster for the film. We see on the poster Thor Chris Hemsworth dressed in his casual best as he raises a hammer high to the sky. The poster looks very retro, as does the look of our superhero.
The new poster was shared with the label “Thor: Love and Thunder from Marvel Studios will only arrive in theaters on July 8th. ❤️ + ⚡. “
Enthusiastic fans jumped to respond to the new poster. One simply wrote, “Damn!” Another mentioned, “Wow, finally!” Several others dropped their hearts and fired emoticons to appreciate the poster.
Led by director Thor: Ragnarok Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder will be released on July 8.
