The news came days after speculation suggested the new chat show season was in sight.

Later in the day, Karan confirmed on his social networks that Koffee and Karan will return to Disney + Hotstar. He shared a remark that said, “Koffee and Karan won’t come back” on TV! Because every great story needs a good twist, I’m happy to announce that the 7th series of Koffee With Karan will be streamed exclusively on Disney + Hotstar! ”

In 2021, Karan Johar hosted special episodes of Koffee With Karan for the main streaming company. He invited the cast of Disney + Hotstar’s Empire to a special episode called Koffee Shots with the Empire. Later, Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan were also seen promoting their film Atrangi Re in a special episode called Koffee Shots With Atrangi Re. These two episodes were exclusively streamed on Disney + Hotstar.

Koffee With Karan first aired on November 19, 2004 at Star World. The show closed its sixth and final season on March 17, 2019.
