Mumbai is often called the city of dreams, but at the same time many of us have heard thousands of stories that surviving or gaining ground in the city is not a cake walk. Millions of people come to Mumbai with the dream of becoming an actor, but only hundreds make it to the silver screen and very few of them become “stars”. Palash Muchhal Ardh’s directorial debut tells the story of one such fighting actor, Shiva, played by Rajpal Yadav.
As soon as the trailer starts, we meet Rajpal Shiva in women’s clothing. He begs the eunuch in a mask to support his family. We see in the trailer Rubina Dilaik to play Shiva’s supportive wife. She encourages him to fulfill his dream of becoming an actor. However, he never seems to wish Shiva luck. Despite several auditions, he is unable to win the role. Towards the end of the trailer, we see Rajpal Shiva convincing Kulbushan Kharband (who plays the filmmaker) to give him a chance because he is a trained actor.
But will he eventually succeed? Will she become a star? We will have to wait and watch.
Palash Muchhal said in a statement about Ardh: “Ardh is the story of almost every dreamer in Mumbai and we tried to keep the film as close to reality as possible. It’s something that many people connect with, because it’s a people’s story. “
Rajpal Yadav called Ardh the story of those people who fight day and night to fulfill their dreams. “There are millions of Shiva and Parvati in our country who are fighting for survival. So this is their story and I’m honored to be able to tell it, “he said.
Rubina Dilaik, who debuts in Bollywood with Ardh, said: “I came in with a blank card and I feel safe to start my new shifts with a visionary like Palash and a talented teammate like Mr. Rajpal.”
The film will be streamed on ZEE5 from June 10.
