After almost 15 weeks of operation Telugu Indian Idol Season 1 ended up on June 17 with BVK singer Vagdevi of Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, who picked up the trophy for the winner. The show kicked off on February 25 on the Telugu OTT platform, aha, and witnessed several singers showcasing their singing talent to win the final title.

Real estate show moderated Indian Idol Season 5 winner Sreerama Chandra with a jury composed of Thaman SS, Nithya Menen and Singer Karthik. The finale of the singing reality show was a stellar affair with various celebrities including Rana Daggubati, Sai Pallavi and megastar Chiranjeevi, who were part of the big night. Sai Pallavi and Rana came to promote their upcoming film Virata Parvam.

BVK Vagdevi wins Telugu Indian idol

With curtains drawn the first season Telugu Indian idol, BVK singer Vagdevi won the final title along with a cash prize of Rs 10 million. Along with that, Vagdevi also has the right to sing with Geetha Arts. Second place went to Sreenivas, followed by Vaishnavi, who was in the top three. The winners were also awarded a cash prize of Rs. 3 million and Rs 2 million. In addition, Vaishnavi was also given the opportunity to lend his voice to Chiranjeev’s upcoming film Godfather.

Vagdevi, who opened her way on the show, said

My hard efforts over the past few months have finally paid off with this success.
