After blink and miss appearance in the previous episode of Ms Marvel, Fawad Khan played a total character in the fifth episode of the currently airing Marvel Studios web show. And luckily for both Indian and Pakistani fans, the heartthrob left quite an impression.
In an attempt to capitalize on the ongoing fandom around Fawad, Disney+ Hotstar on Wednesday released a promo featuring him and co-star Mehwish Hayat. The two Pakistani stars play Kamala Khan’s great-grandparents and are part of almost the entire episode. Mehwish plays Aisha, from whom Kamala inherits a magical bracelet, and Fawad plays Hasan, a Muslim freedom fighter in British-occupied India who dreams of an independent nation.
Fawad has been receiving positive reviews ever since he appeared in the fan-loved avatar exactly as he was portrayed in popular TV shows like Hamsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai. Social media is abuzz with audience reactions, many on the Indian side missing seeing him in Bollywood.

Fawad is the latest actor from the Indian subcontinent to become a part of Ms. Marvel. Last week, Bollywood actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar also played a key role in the superhero show — Waleed, who is the leader of the Red Daggers, a vigilante group that helps Kamala Khan from the attacking Clandestines led by Najma.
Ms. Marvel explores the story of Pakistani-American teenager Kamala Khan, played by superhero fan Iman Vellani. After inheriting a bracelet from her grandmother, she realizes she has superpowers.
