On Sunday, in a Bollywood star-studded ceremony, Karnataka’s Sini Shetty was crowned Femina Miss India World 2022. The ceremony was held in Mumbai at the JIO World Convention Center and the night was star-studded including Neha Dhupia, Rajkummar Rao, Maniesh Paul, Dino Morea, Mithali Raj and Malaika Arora who were among the participants.

While Sini bagged the biggest crown, the other two lucky girls were Rubal Shekhawat from Rajasthan, the first runner-up, and Shinata Chauhan from Uttar Pradesh, the second runner-up.

As per tradition, Sini was crowned Miss India 2021 by Manasa Varanasi.

The event on Sunday had a panel of judges comprising Neha, Malaika Arora, Dino Morea, designers Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna, top choreographer Shiamak Davar and former cricketer Mithali Raj.

Who is Sini Shetty?

The 21-year-old young beauty queen hails from the southern Indian state of Karnataka. However, she was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Shetty holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and is currently attending a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) professional course.

Sini’s other talents?

Shetty is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and began learning the Indian dance form at the age of 4.

For the uninitiated, before Sini, the country has many beauty queens from Karnataka including Lara Dutta, Sarah Jane Dias and Sandhya Chib, Nafisa Joseph, Lymaraina D` Souza among others.

For the night, Shetty looked stunning in a body-hugging shimmering silver gown with a sky-high slit. Designed by Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna.

The night also celebrated Neh’s 20 years since winning the coveted crown.
