Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah became the most popular sitcom on television. It enjoys massive viewership and often tops the TRP charts. Produced by Asit Modi, TMKOC is based on Gujarati writer Taarak Janubhai Mehta’s weekly column ‘Duniya Ne Undha Chasma’. The show holds the Guinness World Record for longest-running daytime sitcom on television by number of episodes. On Thursday, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah completed its 14 glorious years. The cast and crew of the show came together to celebrate the iconic milestone. Munmun Dutta shared pictures from the celebrations on Instagram. She captioned the post, “14 wonderful years! Grateful…Joi Maa Durga. Joi Maa Kali.”

Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal remembered Nattu Kaka, Kavi Kumar Azad who lost their lives recently.

I would like to ask them to continue to love us so that we get the energy to better performances and entertain them,” he added.

For the uninitiated, the first episode of the show premiered on 28 July 2008. Its initial cast included names like Dilip Joshi as Jethalal, Disha Vakani as Daya Jethalal Gada, popularly known as Daya Ben, and Shailesh Lodha as Taarak Mehta, the narrator. show that recently ended.
