Actress Anushka Sharma is going to train in England to prepare for her upcoming film Chakda Xpress. The sports drama is based on the life of former Indian captain and fast bowler Jhulan Goswami. It will be released on Netflix.
Sharma, who recently completed the first schedule of Chakda Xpress, is now gearing up to shoot the intense cricket portions of the film. A source said, “Anushka is leaving no stone unturned to become Jhulan on screen. He prepares his body. He will be honing his cricketing skills considerably in Leeds from mid-August before he starts shooting the cricket parts of the film. She has always been a deeply committed artist and wants to live up to her role. They will thoroughly prepare and undergo rigorous training exercises before filming key scenes from late August to September.”
Chakda Xpress marks Anushka Sharma’s return to the silver screen after 2018’s Zero. It will be shot in India and UK and produced by Clean Slate Filmz, which is now headed by Sharma’s brother Karnesh Sharma.
Speaking to Chakda Xpress, the actor had earlier said in a statement, “This film is a dramatic retelling of several incidents that shaped Jhulan Goswami’s life and also women’s cricket.”
