Director Jordan Peele’s much-anticipated film Nope will hit Indian theaters on August 19, Universal Pictures announced on Friday. The sci-fi horror is Peele’s third directorial venture, following the critically acclaimed Get Out (2017) and Us (2019).
It revolves around siblings who run a horse ranch in the state of California, where the residents of a lonely ravine witness strange, ominous activity in the skies above.

The situation is made worse by the owner of the adjacent amusement park, who is trying to profit from a mysterious, otherworldly phenomenon.
Nope reunites Peele with his Get Out co-star Daniel Kaluuya, who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Judas and the Black Messiah.
Peele, who has recently become one of the most successful directors in the horror genre, said the inspiration for the film was his desire to explore humanity combined with a sense of existential helplessness.
“I focused on this idea of spectacle to bring people to theaters and help rekindle their love for the movie experience.
“At the same time, I asked myself why we are obsessed with the spectacle. Why is the human condition such that we have such an addiction to witnessing magic, be it beautiful or terrible?” the filmmaker said in a statement.
The film also features Hustlers actor Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun of Minari fame.
