Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu landed in trouble when she was sued by producer and actress Upasana Singh for breach of contract for a Punjabi film. Upasana accused her of not honoring the agreement signed to promote the Punjabi film. Upasana filed a civil suit in the Chandigarh District Court seeking damages for alleged breach of contract by Sandhu, who played the lead role in her film Bai ji Kuttange.
“I gave Harnaaz a chance to act in ‘Bai ji Kuttange’. Not only that, I have also done ‘Yaara Diyan Poo Baran’ in which Harnaaz is also the heroine,” she told reporters outside the court.
The producer claimed that Sandhu, who was crowned Miss Universe 2021, had to make herself available in person and virtually for the promotion of the film under an agreement with her Santosh Entertainment Studio LLP. But she refused to give the film’s promotion dates, Singh said.
Sandhu did not immediately comment on Singh’s allegations. “I gave her a chance when she wasn’t Miss Universe,” Singh said.
“I spent a huge amount on this film. It’s not a low-budget film.” She claimed that she had to postpone the release of the film from 27 May to 19 August.
Dev Kharoud and Gurpreet Ghuggi starred in ‘Bai Ji Kuttange’ directed by Smeep Kang. The trailer for the film was released on August 1. It is set to hit theaters on August 19. Apart from producing the film, Upasana Singh also acted in it.
