Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is celebrated with pomp across the country. It is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of the Indian people, culture and achievements. Freedom fighters, poets, writers and people from different walks of life who have made significant contributions are also felicitated on this occasion.
The Ministry of Culture, Central Government organized a grand event at the Asia Society, Mumbai. At the same event, Kolkata-based content creator and influencer Satyajit Majumder was recognized as a “Cultural Icon of India in Digital Media” by the Ministry of Culture. It was an honor for him to be a part of the West Bengal bandwagon and write his name on the emerging cultural map of our country. Earlier, Satyajit Majumder also came into limelight by launching the #PassTheFood campaign for stray dogs during the Covid lockdown.
Celebrities like Ankita Lokhande, Amrita Rao and Meera Kapoor were also present in this program. On the occasion of this recent ‘Indian Cultural Icon in Digital Media’ award, Satyajit said, “It’s been quite a journey to get this far. It is a dream come true for the creator to be recognized as a cultural icon on the occasion of 75 glorious years of independent India.”
Meanwhile, the event was marked by the presence of dignitaries from various fields including lifestyle, fashion, entertainment, travel, food and more including Chef Kunal Kapoor, RJ Anmol, Amrita Rao, Jannat Zubair and others.
On the other hand, the government as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav launched another campaign called “Har Ghar Tiranga”. It is to encourage people to bring the ‘Tiranga’ home and erect it on the occasion of India’s 75th year of independence. The timing of displaying the flag is not limited in any way. The Government amended the Flag Act of India to allow the tricolor to be displayed in the open air and on individual houses or buildings during the day and night.
