Raju Srivastava remains in hospital after suffering a heart attack on August 10. Shekhar Suman took to Twitter on Sunday to share the comedian’s health update. Shekhar gave information about his family members Paradise he is still unconscious but “reportedly improving”.
“Today’s update on Raju according to his family members…his organs are functioning normally. Although he is still unconscious, the doctor says he is reportedly improving steadily. Mahadev ki kripa. Har Har Mahadev,” he tweeted.
The 58-year-old comedian was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after he suffered a heart attack. He also underwent angioplasty the same day and has been on a ventilator ever since.

On Friday, Raju’s brother Deepu Srivastava, informed in a video message that the comedian is recovering and is under the care of the best team of doctors at the hospital. He also urged people not to pay attention to rumours, asking them to continue to wish his brother well. Deepu said, “He is a fighter and soon he will come back and win the battle and entertain everyone with his comedy.”
His wife Shikha Srivastava also called her husband a “warrior” and said “he will come back to be among us all”. “He is stable. Doctors treat him well. Raju ji is a fighter and he will come back to be among us all. We need your prayers and wishes,” she told PTI.
Shikha Srivastava has asked the media and fans not to spread rumours, as it affects the “morale” of the family. She said: “My sincere request is please don’t spread rumours.” It affects our morale. We don’t want negative energy. We need positivity. Please pray for his speedy recovery and he will be back soon. The doctors give their best and Raju ji supports them, fights. So please don’t spread negativity.”
Raju Srivastava rose to fame after participating in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005. He has also acted in Hindi films like Maine Pyar Kiya, Baazigar, Bombay to Goa remake and Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya. Srivastava is the chairman of the Film Development Council, Uttar Pradesh.
