Leading Bengali-focused streamer Hoichoi has launched a 25-member India-Bangladesh series to mark its fifth anniversary.
Entering its sixth year, Hoichoi unveiled 21 shows from India and four from Bangladesh at a gala in Kolkata on Tuesday. Content creators Srijit Mukherji, Dhrubo Banerjee, Anirban Bhattacharya, Sahana Dutta, Syed Ahmed Shawki, Ashfaque Nipun and others continue their journey with Hoichoi, while Raj Chakraborty and Arindam Sil make their streaming debuts.
Hoichoi co-founder Vishnu Mohta said the streamer’s monthly active users have increased by 40% and its international user base has grown by 30%. Operated by SVF Entertainment, Hoichoi was launched in 2017.
“It has been an extremely rewarding and monumental five years. From bringing in top filmmakers, securing one world premiere film per month, to developing strategic partnerships for accessibility, to the current redesigned UI/UX with more new features, everything is geared towards making our customers’ experience significantly better,” said Mohta. “As a platform, we believe in constant growth and improvement, which has led us to significantly increase our user base.”
Bangladeshi titles to come are “Karagar: Part 2”, “Kaiser: Chapter 2”, “Mohanagar: Antim Pawrbo” and “Bodh”.
Indian titles include the second season of “Indu”, “Professor Bhootnath”, “Mr. Kolketa, the third season of “Montu Pilot”, “Hostel Days”, the sixth season of “Eken Babu”, “Feluda – Bhuswargo Bhoyonkawr” – another continuation of the popular detective series created by Satyajit Ray, “Gobhir Joler Maach,” “Sarkar”, “Indubala Bhaater Hotel”, second season “Gora”, rebooted version of the very first show from Hoichoi “Hello Remember Me”, “Bodhon”, “Byomkesh o Pinjrapol”, “DM Mallika”, and second season “Srikanto”, “Troilokkyo”, final chapter “Sampurna”, “Jogshutro”, “Bengali Deception: Bima Kando” and “Jaatishwar”.
