Avatar Reissue: The epic sci-fi film “Avatar” is being re-released worldwide on Friday, September 23. The James Cameron film is returning to theaters in a remastered 4K High Dynamic Range format, Disney and 20th Century have announced. The ‘Avatar’ lovers have the opportunity to watch their favorite celestial saga unfold on the big screen again.

The film, starring Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, was released in theaters in 2009 and became a massive hit.
Cameron’s “Avatar” became the highest-grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office with more than $2.8 billion in sales. The film was nominated for nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, and won three Oscars for Best Cinematography, Production Design and Visual Effects.
In 2010, a special extended re-release of “Avatar” grossed US$44 million worldwide exclusively in 3D theaters and IMAX 3D. Earlier last year, the film’s re-release in China grossed US$57.7 million.
It is worth noting that the sequel of this movie titled “Avatar: The Way of Water” is ready for worldwide release. The film will hit theaters on December 16.
