Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez will appear before the Patiala House Court on Monday in connection with the Rs 200 crore extortion case involving multi-millionaire fraudster Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently filed its second additional charge-sheet in the case in which she was named as an accused.
According to the latest update, the Bollywood actress has been granted interim bail. Additional Sessions Judge Shailender Malik asked the ED to respond to the bail plea. Until then, her proper bail is pending in court. On the request of Jacqueline’s lawyer, the court granted Jacqueline an interim bail of Rs 50,000.
Jacqueline and another Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi recorded their statements as witnesses in the case. Earlier, the probe agency had attached fixed deposits worth Rs 7.2 crore belonging to Fernandez. He called the gifts and property “proceeds” of crime received by the two actors.
Last December, the ED filed its first charge sheet in the matter in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Praveen Singh. Later, in February, she filed a supplementary charge sheet against one Pinky Irani, an alleged aide of Chandrashekhar who introduced him to Fernandez.
According to the record sheet, Pinky used to pick expensive gifts for Fernandez and drop them at her residence after Chandrashekhar made the payments.
Sukesh spent around 20 million on various models and Bollywood celebrities which several refused to accept.
