Chinese-born K-pop idol Jackson Wang rose to fame when he debuted under JYP Entertainment with GOT7. His star has continued to rise ever since, with fans and non-fans alike admiring his cutting-edge style, friendly attitude, impeccable vocals and elegant looks.
Jackson comes from a fairly athletic family and has been fencing since he was 10 years old. After training alongside his father, who is a gold medalist in fencing, the singer was able to become a junior fencer at the Olympic level at just 16 years old.
But did you know he turned down a sports scholarship from Stanford?
Yes, Jackson realized that his true passion lay on the stage and decided to join JYP Entertainment as a trainee to pursue a music career. And now we don’t need to tell you how much of an influence she has on her fans.
Jackson, along with the rest of GOT7, left JYP on January 19, 2021, after their contracts expired. He has since established his own brand, Team Wang, and is currently active internationally.
