After nine days in Goa, the 53rd edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) comes to an end. The film festival featured a large number of films from around the world and several panels with artists interacting with attendees. As Akshay Kumar was also among the celebrities who attended the closing ceremony of the film festival, he recently spoke about how India is on its way to becoming a superpower.
In a brief interaction with ANI, Akshay Kumar spoke about Indian cinema and how it is supporting the country to become a superpower. The actor highlighted the maximum number of films made in India and in several languages. He said, “India is moving towards becoming a superpower. Maximum number of films are made in India. Our films are produced in multiple languages.”
Rana Daggubati, who also attended the closing ceremony, spoke about the crucial role that film festivals play for independent films. He added, “Festivals become a real bridge for independent voices to showcase themselves. It feels great to be in Goa.”

Union Minister Anurag Thakur also addressed the closing ceremony of IFFI 2022. In his speech, the Union Minister talked about how the film festival not only entertained but educated the masses. He added: “IFFI has opened up the nuanced world of cinema to audiences across the region, young and old, newcomers and festival veterans alike. We repaid our country of honor status at Cannes by welcoming France as a country of interest, marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between France and India is celebrating 75 years of India’s independence.”
