Srivallisong from the movie Pushpa, ranked Best Music Video, while the “Shorts Break” comedy video creator was named YouTube’s top video-sharing creator in the country’s Top Producers and Videos of 2022. The platform also named the Top 10 Trending Videos, Top 10 Music Videos, and Top 10 Short Films. In addition, YouTube was ranked the best creators of the entire year, as well as the best creators of 2022.
“The interplay between video-on-demand, short-form content and live streaming is visible on YouTube – and reflected in the annual rankings,” the iconic platform said in a statement.
Trending videos and creators indicate the country’s pop culture. According to YouTube, for Gen-Z, the platform is “a microcosm of the world they inhabit.” YouTube creators also produce blockbuster movies and even “shortbusters.” Scripted content is exploding in short form across languages, with snappy, fast-paced episodes, even as a feature film and a short drama became the most-watched videos, YouTube said.
water age, a video by Round2Hell that is a sarcastic take on water scarcity, and Sasta Shaark tank by Ashish Chanchlani, a comedy remake of a TV show about business investment, topped the list of top 10 videos. Third on the list was a video by CarryMinati titled The magic of Indian food.
Kuthu in Arabicofficial lyric video in Arabic Kuthu-Halamithi Habiba from Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast by Sun Pictures and Sami Sami of Pushpa came after Srivalli in the list of the best music videos.
Short video maker Jaanvi Patel led the list of breakout women. Scripted content creators Akshay Nagwadiya and Gulshan Kalra were named the top creators after Shorts Break, YouTube said.
