About Avatar: The Path of Water
Directed by: James Cameron, Avatar: The Path of Water is a sequel to the 2009 film Avatar. The film will hit the big screens across India on December 16 and will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The sequel will be a continuation of the first part of the franchise. Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and Kate Winslet play pivotal roles in the second installment.
Filmmaker James Cameron, who has expressed interest in making a sequel to Avatar if successful, announced the first two sequels back in 2010. While The Way of Water was intended for release in 2014, the addition of three more sequels and the need to develop new technology led to a significant production delays.
Recently, the highly-anticipated film received a lot of backlash after being nominated in two categories at the 2022 Golden Globe Awards before its official release. James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water was nominated for the Golden Globes for Best Picture – Drama and Best Director.
