SS Rajamouli period action film RRR On Friday, the makers announced that it has become the highest grossing Indian film in Japan.
The official Twitter handle RRR shared a poster that said the Golden Globe-nominated film has grossed over ¥410 million at the Japanese box office since its October 21 release in the country.
“Delighted to share that #RRRMovie is now the highest grossing film ever for an Indian film in Japan! Thank you for all the love you have showered on our stars and director since the film’s release,” the post read.

Released in theaters in March, RRR it collected more than 1,200 crore rupees at the global box office. The Hindi version of the film premiered on Netflix on May 20 and soon became the most popular movie from India on the streamer worldwide.

all india movie, RRR follows a fictional pre-independence story woven around two real-life Indian revolutionaries – Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR) – in the 1920s.
After the film reached overseas territories, it received unanimous praise from foreign critics and audiences.
The makers are currently gearing up for the Hollywood awards season RRR it recently received nominations for the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards.

On Monday, RRR received two Golden Globe nominations – Best Picture – Non-English and Best Song for Naatu Naatu. It was followed by five nominations at the Critics Choice Awards – Best Picture, Best Director, Best Foreign Language Film, Best Song for Naatu Naatuand Best Visual Effects.
