The trend of making remakes of Hollywood movies has been prevalent in Bollywood for quite some time now. 2022 is also an example of this trend. Recently, Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha which is the remake of 1994 American film Forrest Gump hit the theaters. And now in the latest update, the names of Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Ranveer Singh are being considered for the Hindi remake of Jason’s ‘The Transporter’ Statham.
In an exclusive report to India Today, Vishal Rana, who co-produced the Taapsee Pannu starrer Blurr, revealed that his company has acquired the official rights to remake the 2002 action thriller The Transporter. And knowing the name Hrithik RoshanTiger Shroff and Ranveer Singh are being considered.
Shooting remakes of Hollywood films is not new for Rana. His film Blurr, which is a Hindi remake of the Spanish film Julia’s Eyes, was recently aired on ZEE5.
With such developments being witnessed these days, let’s take a look at the Hollywood movies that are soon to be remade in Bollywood.
1. Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in The Intern remake
If reports are to be believed, Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan will soon star in the Hindi remake of the Hollywood film The Intern. The 2015 remake of Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro’s hit comedy is one of the most anticipated films in Bollywood.
2. Varun Dhawan in the Indian installment of Citadel
A week ago, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan confirmed his presence in the lead role of Citadel India. This project is a spin off of their Priyanka Chopra starrer web series. This series will air on Amazon Prime.
3. Shahid Kapoor in Bloody Daddy
Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor will soon be seen on the big screen with director Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Bloody Daddy’. The film is said to be an official adaptation of the 2011 French film ‘Nuit Blanche’ (Sleepless Night).
4. Sonam Kapoor in the remake of The Blind
Blind is an upcoming Bollywood movie directed by Shome Makhija. The film stars Sonam K Ahuja in the lead role with Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak and Lillete Dubey in supporting roles. This movie is a remake of a Korean movie of the same name.
5. Salman Khan’s niece Alizeh in CODA remake
If reports are to be believed, Salman Khan’s niece Alizeh will feature in CODA remake. The beauty diva will be seen in Hollywood film CODA’s Hindi remake and will be released under the banner of Salman Khan movies.
