Shark Tank India 2: A day after severe internet trolling, Namita Thapar in her recent post said that instead of celebrating people’s ‘lack of integrity’, she calls out ‘toxicity’. The Shark Tank judges were trolled for rejecting the offer because it would represent competition for Vineeta Singh’s makeup brand, Sugar Cosmetics. After that, Namita took to her Twitter account and killed the trolls. She wrote: “Being a shark doesn’t mean we are not entitled to our independent values and speaking out, so if I don’t invest in the competition of fellow sharks, that’s me, I have no regrets and if I call out toxicity and don’t join the ignoramuses who celebrate people with a lack of integrity. . this is me :).”
The second season of the popular show ‘Shark Tank India’ started on January 2 and it seems that just after the first episode aired, the show got caught up in a new controversy. During the first episode, all the sharks were impressed by the make-up brand’s touch, yet the sharks rejected the touch mainly because it was a competitor’s brand, Vineet Singh’s Sugar Cosmetics. In the episode, Vineeta was also visibly surprised when she was told that her brand’s official Instagram account (Sugar) was following the featured brand (Recode).
Fans did not like this and many of them criticized the move on Twitter. “Shark Tank India Season 2 made it clear that it’s a friendly club of rich people sitting there to demotivate hard working individual businesses that have ‘profits’. Absolutely ridiculous, I’ve never seen anything like that happen in the US version .” wrote a user on Twitter. Another user wrote: “@amangupta0303 and @namitathapar gave a poor excuse for not investing in Recode Show the name must be friendship tank india not shark tank india Promoting monopoly in the name of friendship.”
The show is based on the popular concept of the show of the same name – Shark Tank USA. He started his first season in December last year. Apart from Namit and Vineeta, this season also features previous season’s sharks Aman Gupta and Anupam Mittal along with new panel shark Amit Jain.
