In 2022, the awards were not broadcast due to protests against the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which was criticized for the lack of diversity among the nominees. The event was boycotted by media companies, actors and creatives. The awards ceremony was held behind the scenes and the winners were announced in a press release.
The prestigious award ceremony is even more special this time RRR SS Rajamouli was nominated in two categories. The film received two nominations for Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu and Best Film – Non-English Language. The Golden Globes are an important precursor to the Academy Awards, so these nominations matter all the more to RRR.

The Golden Globes will be held on January 10, 8:00 PM ET (January 11, 5:30 AM IST). The red carpet will begin at 5:30 and the ceremony itself will begin at 6:30.
