Samantha Ruth Prabhu expressed her regret on Monday after a Twitter user claimed she had lost her “glamour and glow” after being diagnosed with myositis. “I’m sorry Samantha. It has lost all its charm and luster. Just when everyone thought she had come out of the divorce strong and her professional life was on a high, myositis hit her badly and made her weak again (sic),” read a controversial Twitter post with Samantha’s latest photos taken during the Shaakuntalam trailer launch on Monday.
Samantha responded to the comment with kind words while pointing out the insensitive and insensitive nature of the post. “I pray you never have to go through months of treatment and medication like I did… And here’s some love from me to add to your glow,” she wrote.

Many slammed the post in question, with one Twitter user saying he found the post “brutal”. “As someone who has an autoimmune disease and has gone through a bunch of experimental treatments, including steroids, with all the effects of the disease and treatment visibly showing, these kinds of condescending comments can feel brutal. I feel sorry for those who can’t see,” read a tweet from the handle MeDamselDee.
“In a world where you can be anything… Be kind!! @MeDamselDee You are beautiful,” Samantha replied, showing her solidarity with MeDamselDee.
