RRR director SS Rajamouli earlier thought that only NRI friends in the US would watch the Ram Charan, Jr NTR film.
Here is what SS Rajamouli had to say
According to a report in the Hindustan Times, in collaboration with Seth Meyers, SS Rajamouli said, “We are on top of the world. I basically make films for Indians in India and around the world. When we started getting recognition from the West, our initial thought was that ‘These guys they must be friends of our Indians who went to see the film.’
He went on to add that soon the viewership increased as celebrities, screenwriters and film directors started tweeting and talking about the film on social media. Celebrities started promoting the film by word of mouth and it was then released on Netflix and soon climbed into the top 10 list for 15 consecutive weeks. He added that the film was released in Japan and is still running there, becoming the highest grossing Indian film ever in Japan.
