He wrote: “After 3 weeks in jail with double Covid in 2 weeks accompanied by flu and deep pneumonia – and after several attempts to leave. Finally landed by air ambulance accompanied by two doctors and a superstar super performance son who has done so much for me back in London. Flight was smooth. Still on external oxygen 24/7 unfortunately. Thank you all at @vistajet for going the extra mile. I’m extremely grateful to everyone. Love to all. Big hugs.”

He later wrote a heartfelt message for the “superstars” who saved him. Sharing a glimpse from the flight, he captioned: “With my two rescuers. Two doctors seriously monitored me for 3 weeks as I healed. Me 24/7. 1 from Mexico City under whose care I was and second my London Dr flew to Mexico City to accompany me back to London. I can’t put into words the sacrifices of time etc. there to get me out. I still need recovery time. Currently on 24/7 external oxygen.

Lalit Modi further added, “I thought I would touch and go. But my kids and thieving friends and my close friend @harish_salve_ who were all with me for 2 of my three weeks fully by my side.
