Former India captain Virat Kohli scored the 46th century of his One-Day International career during the third and final match against Sri Lanka on Friday. Kohli looked in top form as he reached the three-figure mark in the 74th over for India. With the century, Kohli surpassed the legendary Sachin Tendulkar to become the player with the most ODI hundreds at home. Kohli now has 21 ODI centuries for India compared to Tendulkar’s 19 ODI tons.
Kohli produced one of the best ODI performances of his career as he smashed an unbeaten 166 off just 110 balls. Kohli’s century consisted of 13 boundaries and eight sixes, with a strike rate of 150.90. Kohli also became the player with the most hundreds (10) against a single opponent (Sri Lanka) in ODI cricket. Kohli was part of a two-hundred-run partnership in the game, which helped India reach a massive total of 390 runs.

During his knocking, Kohli he played a shot from the helicopter as he descended from the ground, leaving everyone in awe. Kohli played an impressive knock in the 44th over of the first innings off the bowling of Kasuna Rajith. The 34-year-old stepped off the pitch and smashed a six over long-on. India and Sri Lanka are currently locking horns with each other in the third and final ODI of their three-match series. India have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the competition with wins in the first two matches. The third and final ODI takes place in Thiruvananthapuram where Sri Lanka will be looking for consolation to take home some positives. However, Sri Lanka now looks set to suffer a clean sweep in the series, looking at the position they are currently in in the match.
Sri Lanka lost five wickets for just 37 runs on the board. The last batsman was Wanindu Hasaranga who was bowled cleanly by Mohammed Siraj for 1 off 7 balls. Siraj has picked up four wickets in the match so far.
